State governments are significant, in part, due to the close proximity to citizens.  Decisions regarding state-level issues, such as education and criminal justice, are likely to have an immediate impact on the daily life of citizens.

For this discussion, I would like you to explain one example of a state-level decision or change that has had an observable impact on its citizens.  This can be a personal example or a more broad observation; it may also be from Georgia, or any other state.  Please review the discussion participation guide on the Module 01 checklist for additional information regarding discussion grading.
