Discussion Board for Learning Strategies for Success

Should you study alone or with a group? What is your preferred way to study? Do you have to listen to music or have the TV playing in the background? Are you more productive at night or early in the morning? Are your study habits influenced by the material that you have to learn?

I prefer to study alone due to having ADD which causes me to be too easily distracted by others to study effectively in a group setting.  That being said, I work well in group settings with others when I'm performing tasks.  I don't listen to music or TV when studying because again, it's too distracting, particularly if what I'm reading or studying is difficult for me.  Being a night owl by nature, I am more alert and my mind is more productive at night.  If I am learning something that I'm completely unfamiliar with, I will focus completely, but if I have some knowledge, I'll typically skim the surface initially and follow-up more in-depth as a refresher.
