you will rely heavily on the instructions in your text for how to conduct good observation and write a narrative assessment.  Search for an example of either positive or negative early child behavior that is captured on YouTube and provide the link to your classmates.  Make very sure that the link is typed correctly.  

In your first paragraph, write an objective narrative, describing the behavior as you see it, acknowledging any limitations or biases you may have, doing your best to practice good observation techniques.  

In your second paragraph, choose the guidance technique from the Guidance Continuum in Figure 7-5 in your text that you think is most appropriate for this situation and describe how you would implement the strategy, including the words and actions you would use and the desired outcome you hope to achieve.  Include what Scriptures would guide your words and actions.  

In your replies to your classmates…give them feedback on their narrative and their strategy.  After you watch the YouTube video, what positive feedback do you have for them about their narrative description of the child’s behavior?  How could they have described the child’s behavior better?  Did they make any inferences or statements that they didn’t support with the physical evidence?  How could they have restated the inference to make it more objective?  Remember to be gentle, you’ll be on the receiving end of this constructive criticism too.  Does the strategy they proposed seem appropriate to you?
