In the role of the crime analysis advocate, give the police chief some examples of how crime analysis results can be used to boost situational awareness and to strengthen crime prevention efforts.  Isn’t the agency doing these things already? Is there some level of situational awareness? Don’t we do things to prevent crime? Your job is to overcome these arguments and show that a crime analysis unit would be a benefit to the agency.
