After reading Part I: “The Hearth and the Salamander” pgs. 1-66 from Fahrenheit 451 (F451) (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED), take a look at your notes, and consider the way entertainment is viewed, used, and manifests for characters in the novel. Answer all of the following two questions:

1. What role does entertainment and technology play in the characters’ lives? Does it bring people together or create isolation?
2. Can you make comparisons to modern American culture and its use of entertainment and technology? Does it distract, isolate, damage, etc.?
