Please read the piece by Roy Peter Clark posted on Canvas (under “Pages,” on the Page marked “Web sources”).  Also read the text of Michelle Obama’s speech (link within Clark’s piece) or watch the video of the speech.  As you read/view, take notes on what you find significant or interesting.  The piece is also at the link here: https://www.poynter.org/educators-students/2016/8-writing-lessons-from-michelle-obamas-dnc-speech/

Once you have completed this reading and note-taking, please respond to the following questions, posting your response (300-500 words approximately) under the Discussions thread entitled “Assignment #1 Part 2.”

Once you have read Clark’s article and read/listened to Michelle Obama’s speech, briefly summarize Clark’s main points about the speech.  Once you have completed this summarizing, what other aspects of the speech would you say makes it effective – at least for you, specifically, as an audience member? Are there any ways in which the speech is not effective, or not as effective as it might have been for you? How so, exactly?  Cite concrete evidence from the speech to illustrate your points.
