Discussion and Essay

WEEK 10

This week,  read the story "Cathedral" by Raymond Carver.  LINK TO "CATHEDRAL" 

Answer the following questions:

1.  Doe the narrator in the story change by the end of the story?  Why or why not?

2.  What is the lesson of this story?  What can it teach people?

WEEK 11 DISCUSSION THREAD

This week, you will start working on your second Essay.   Essay 2 focuses on poetry or fiction.  This essay will be based on the readings we have done in class.  (The topics can be found in the Week 11 Course Announcements and in the Week 11 Course Content.)

By Thursday of this week, post the folowing here to this discussion thread: 

1.  Which topic have you chosen?  Why?

2.  Post your introduction to your paper.  Remember, introductory paragraphs should be short.  Try to keep them between 3-5 sentences.

3.  As always, respond to two of your classmates' introductions and postings by Monday.

As this discussion thread is more intensive, it is worth more points than our earlier discussion threads.  It is worth 30 points!
