The primary goal of an equity research report is to provide recommendations to investors on buying, selling, or holding shares of a public company.

Because of what the primary goal of the equity research report is, the targeted audience would be the investors. Others that may be interested in reading the equity research report include competitors, employees, and risk analysts. Investors might find reading the report helpful to gain insight on the company they are seeking to invest in. It will help guide them in making any decisions on whether to buy, hold, or sell stocks. When it comes to competitors, the report will reflect the performance of the company and give the competitors a competitive edge on how they can do better. Employees can use the report to stay up-to-date with the company's changes and other information. 

Three required elements of the week 5 final project that are commonly included in an equity research report are Business description, financial statements, and valuation.

In this week one discussion forum.

What is the primary goal of an equality research report? To provide investors with detailed financial analysis and recommendation on planning to buy, hold, or sell a particular investment.  (Corporate Finance Institute, n.d., para 1)

Who are the typical readers of an equity research report? It done by equity research analysists. Investing banks research for institutional clients so they can use to trade for a stock.

What are three required elements of the week 5 final project that are commonly included in an equity research report? The research report should begin with some basic information about the firm, including the company’s ticker symbol, the primary exchange where its shares are traded, the primary sector and industry where it operates, the investment recommendation, the current stock price and market capitalization, and the target stock price.
