1. Think about your understanding of "expert" teacher. Which do you think is more essential for an expert teacher: teaching pedagogy or subject matter competence? What are some examples of teachers you had in the past, or teachers you work with, who have excellent teaching pedagogy and/or excellent subject matter competence?

2. Based on the text, what are some qualities of an "expert student" and explain which of these qualities you possess?
