In lectures and previous labs, we have learned that all living organisms respond (are adapted) to environmental factors where they live. However, besides human beings, other animal species (e.g., ants, birds, beavers) can transform their environments.

Find examples and discuss how beneficial and/or detrimental these types of behaviors are for the ecosystem. Helpful tip: search for articles and outside resources on "ecosystem engineers".
