Math 2 Discussion Five:

Part One:

For this discussion, three posts are required to earn full credit.

Answer the following questions separately. (9 points)

1. Explain how you would use the p-value to make a decision about the null hypothesis?
2. How is the p-value related to the test statistic?
3. Explain whether or not rejecting the null hypothesis makes the alternative hypothesis true and why.
4. If I conduct a hypothesis testing with Type I error set at 0.05 and a resulting p-value of 0.15, what would my conclusion be?

Part Two:

Respond to a classmate's post by asking them a question about the p-value and hypothesis testing. (8 points)

Part Three:

Respond to a question a classmate posted from Part II (on anyone's post). (8 points)
