this is unit  This unit is an introduction to the sub-field of international politics. It underscores the importance of studying international politics in our daily lives—whether in economic, political or social ways. Moreover, the unit examines the philosophical roots of international politics and the theoretical schools that have predominated in the postwar years. From realism to liberalism, and their modifications, these schools help us to explain and predict international political phenomena. Finally, the unit will also highlight and explain the role played by political scientists in studying world politics and how we conduct research in the sub-field.
