Module 4

Literature Review and Evidence Matrix Assignment

This Literature Review will be with the same exact topic of the PICO assignment I just requested before.

Please keep it with the same topic of Child Obesity

It is for a Masters FNP writing assignment

Healthy People 2030 aims to reduce the proportion of children and adolescents with obesity (objective NWS-04) by encouraging healthy eating and physical activity. The initiative supports strategies such as promoting diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, increasing physical activity, limiting screen time, and creating environments in homes, schools, and communities that support healthy habits. Progress on this goal is tracked as a Leading Health Indicator

Why It Matters

Childhood obesity is a major public health concern, linked to serious long-term health problems, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer. It also increases the risk of bullying and can lead to obesity in adulthood.

So for this assignment, most effective strategies to decrease pediatric obesity in primary care settings.
This is certainly an area/challenge that FNPs are constantly faced with in primary care and particularly with some specific cultures or ethnic groups.
