This is the discussion question:
Review the Title IX document in this week's resources and provide a brief overview of your understanding of what Title IX is, and how it supports you as a GCU student.
Note: Some students may discuss personal experiences that may be difficult to hear. Use caution when engaging in the forum.
This is my answer:
Afer reviewing the Title IX in this week’s resource, I found found out that the federal funding recipients may face consequences if they engage in practices violating Title IX's ban against gender and sexuality-related bias. Gender plays a role in acts like harassment, sexual violence, and... All educational endeavors and activities, according to Title IX, must treat men and women equally at GCU, including athletics, extra-curricular events, and more.
Ensuring safety and accountability for all members of the community, GCU upholds its responsibility through rigorous adherence to Titles VI standards. GCU has an obligation under the Title IX and Non-Discrimination Policy to ensure timely and impartial handling of alleged instances of sexual or gender-based harassment or violence. To counteract past mistreatment, the policy pledges to put in place safeguards and correctives.
With Title IX, there's protection against discrimination and ensured inclusiveness at school for us students. Policies exist at GCU to look deeply into claims of sexual/gender misconduct; this pleases me. With various means available to file a complaint, students may now feel more at ease when voicing their concerns thanks to this policy.
From discrimination and harassment protection, Title IX plays an essential role. Due to GCU following Title IX laws, students can now learn in an environment free of fear and discrimination.
I need to respond to three of my classmates discussion shown below.
I need this ASAP, before 12am today.

Title IX is essentially a federal law that was put into place in 1972. This federal law states there will be no type of discrimination based on your gender. You are able to participate in any activities provided by the university. This law protects anyone at Grand Canyon University, from the students attending the school to the staff that was hired. This supports me as a Grand Canyon University student because I was informed that we are all equal here at Grand Canyon University regardless of your gender. I never knew about this law until now and I have attended college before. It seems to me that Grand Canyon University cares a lot towards their students/staff and the people around them. Like the Title IX document stated, "At GCU, we believe there is a shared responsibility to help one another. We are a community... a family...". I am glad to be apart of such a community like this. I have to thank my parents for supporting me in going back to school, I would not be here without them. ❤

Title IX personally is something that is just a rule about life itself. I believe that there should not be any discrimination to others no matter sex or race or anything. Coming from Hawaii we are welcome to all and do not care about what people look like or what gender they are, we love everybody. I personally have never witnessed any sort of discrimination first handed and I hope i never do, but i do know that it is a problem. Of course there will be some sort of discrimination everywhere we go, but there are some places that are worse than others. I hope and i believe that GCU is for anyone and everyone.

I knew there were laws to protect and prevent sexual discrimination or harassment, but I never knew it fell under Title IX. I've heard of it, but I never engaged with it because I was not involved with the higher education system. Now that I am a college student, I am very comfortable with Title IX and all the rules and regulations. When I visited the campus approximately two months ago, I also received training on Title IX. Obviously, the subject of Title IX is severe, and I'm glad GCU treats it as such. One last thought: I agree entirely with the bystander tips. I worked in the military, and whenever cases arose, I was shocked at how many people knew about it. Don't just be a bystander and trust your gut is my biggest takeaway from reading Title IX.
