Hey y’all! As you’ve been able to see in this week’s chapter, there IS a lot of research involved in the science of psychology. I know you’ve all probably heard about the scientific method all the way back in elementary school, but as you venture into the complexities of it in various scientific fields, you’ll notice that the same steps can look a little different based on the subject matter!
What is very interesting about research in psychology is that it has a very human component as opposed to some other disciplines. Understanding behavior, which can be a very abstract process, prompts psychologists to use the scientific method in a way maybe a chemist wouldn’t have to.
Do y’all think the scientific method is just a “one-size-fits-all” for different science subjects? Why/Why not? Answer below!
