Many times, as we think about trends in the fashion industry, we think of how these trends relate to apparel. For example, bell-bottoms in the 1970s and Michael Jackson apparel in the 1980s were both on trend.
If we fast-forward to this decade, maxi dresses and graphic tees are both on trend as well. However, when defining and assessing trends in the fashion industry, we must not forget to expand our thinking to be more global.
Considering the articles above, identify and define some current trends in fashion. Are they transformative? How have these trends affected our global marketplace? How sustainable are these trends?
