 Many of our everyday perceptions and opinions are formed around a variety of common errors in reasoning. On your own, do a search of daily news stories and social media for examples of stereotypes, assumptions, and other reasoning errors we commonly make about the social world. Next, in your discussion post, make a list of around 4 or 5 examples you found and identify the specific reasoning error for each (i.e., Selective Observation; Inaccurate Observation; Overgeneralization; Illogical Reasoning; Resistance to Change; Adherence to Authority). In your responses to at least two classmates, take one of their examples to explain how the error they described can result in harmful policies or practices with individuals and/or communities.
