You are the manager of a pharmaceutical company in Nebraska, USA. You have been operating in a turbulent economic environment. You have many diverse clients and a host of different product lines. The functions are flexible and there are minimal focus on procedures and rules. Sales professionals make decisions upon meeting with the doctors. With the changes in healthcare coming on rapidly, pharmaceutical sales are a dynamic environment. You are not sure how to organize the department of sales and operations.
Will you include staff in decisions about how to organize the department? Why or why not? What jobs will be central to the department? How will they be designed? Propose an organizational chart that depicts the roles in the reorganization.
