2. Read this Anti-Imperialist League leaflet (1899):
   Library of Congress Leaflet – “Save the Republic”

2. Interpretation: What action is taking place, and what event or policy is the artist critiquing?

3. Reflection: Did the cartoon’s symbolism help or confuse your understanding of U.S. expansionism? Defend your answer with examples from the image.
