What type of businesses developed and what was their impact on Black community development; particularly that of all black towns such as Mound Bayou, Mississippi? How does Marcus Garvey speak directly to Black resistance and the ideal of self-help and Black pride?  In what ways was Garvey a symbol of Black pride and empowerment and how did Black people respond to him as well as key Black leaders such as W.E.B. Du Bois?
