For this class discussion, we will address a specific area of abnormal psychology, i.e. psychiatric diagnosis. Your assignment is to read the attached article, “On Being Sane in Insane Places (Rosenhan) and search a minimum of one website which discusses the pros and cons of psychiatric diagnosis/labeling.

1. Then, in a paragraph essay, (1) discuss the information you found most surprising/interesting from the article and then (2) discuss information that discovered from the website. (3) Ultimately determine where you stand on diagnosis and the pros and cons of labeling abnormal behavior, giving the reason(s) why you have made this choice. You will then access the Discussion Board for this question and post your essay to the Discussion Board. Your essay should be approximately 10-15 sentences in length. Spelling and grammar should be checked before posting. The essay should begin with a title which addresses the question of diagnosis.  Be sure to clearly state at the end of the essay what side of the issue you support.
