Discussion
There are times that parents’ fears and phobias of the world affect the stress young children feel. For example, a parent may tell his child that dogs are dangerous, mean, and will bite. This may cause the child to fear dogs. What coping skills can teachers foster to help children be more resilient but also develop a healthy level of caution? How can teachers accomplish this while still being respectful of the parents’ beliefs?
