In this week’s course content folder, there is a listing of four ethics codes including the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). While each code has language specific to their respective organizations, each code also has themes that overlap with the Ethical Standards for Human Services Professionals (National Organization for Human Services). After reviewing these four codes of ethics, pick three themes that you noticed that are addressed in three or more ethical codes (e.g., overlap), and share why you picked these three. As part of your response, include why these codes are significant for human services professionals and/or pastoral counselors.
