A search on the Internet will render numerous writers who have devoted time to writing about misrepresentations and how misrepresentations can be identified. In chapter 6 of your text, the author discusses trustworthy design in data representation (p. 216-218). In Kosara's (2015) article regarding embellishment in bar charts, the author provides some simple concepts to identify embellished representation in bar charts. In the article by Flagg (2015), the author provides insight with five methods you can use to misrepresent data, using examples from the New York Times. Using information from these authors or from your own research, you can identify potentially misrepresented data.
