Graded Discussion 2:  Your role as a part of the Risk Management Team

Prepare

Review the Discussion Requirements Below

For all discussion sessions, your main post should be substantive not to exceed three paragraphs and must include the answers to the questions above. You will be graded on at least two substantive short replies (not to exceed two paragraphs) to your classmates' posts. All post should be made directly to the discussion board; do not upload posts in attachment format.

 

Speak to your peers: see if there are others who have the same interests as you or who have posted something that you find interesting.

What are the substantive posts?

Your responses should be thoughtful, respectful and stimulate further thoughts and discussions. You will begraded on two short (no more than 100 words) substantive replies. Substantive posts consist of the following three parts (ABC):

1. acknowledge

2. build

3. continue

Your post should be purposeful and aim to accomplish one or more of the following goal:

1. Reflection of the topic

2. Analysis

3. Elaboration

4. Application

5. Synthesis

6. Evaluation

Research

After selecting your desired group, research your role on your team (cannot be identical).   Then research at least two recent News articles concerning a recent event that negatively impact your selected industry.  The article should be no more than six months old.  Use the issue presented in the article to continue the discussion using the guidelines below.

Tasks

Identify and discuss the event (presented the article) that negatively impact your selected industry, then address the following questions in your main discussion post:

1. Describe the incident? 

2. Explain how you think your team (your group) can best help in the recovery process? 

3. Present your own advice on how to prevent reoccurrence, if possible

 

Submission

Use the submission requirements above to make all postings to the discussion board. 

You should make your main post submission by the Third day in the week. Initial post and subsequent responses must be supported with at least one properly cited APA source.

Discussion post should follow the APA writing styles. I highly encourage you to stay focus on the discussion topics.  Responding to the main focus of the discussion is very important to the overall assignments. 

Attachments: do not submit your posts and replies in an attachment, you must post directly to the discussion board.
