How revolutionary was the ‘Revolutionary Era’  from the passage of the Declaration of Independence to the ratification of the Bill of Rights?  Did the ‘founding generation’ create a revolutionary new society and government, or did they perpetuate the old colonial social, economic, and political order and simply change the leadership?
