Review these sites we discussed in class regarding sources (for the first source--please read each tab on the website!):

1) https://olinuris.library.cornell.edu/ref/research/webeval.html  (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

2) http://guides.library.cornell.edu/criticallyanalyzing (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

For one of the sources from your paper, I'd like you to go through these questions (which can be found in the first link above).

  • What can the URL tell you?
  • Who wrote the page? Is he, she, or the authoring institution a qualified authority?
  • Is it dated? Current, timely?
  • Is information cited authentic? How can you tell?
  • Does the page have overall integrity and reliability as a source? How can you tell?
  • What's the bias?
  • Could the page or site be ironic, like a satire or a spoof?
  • If you have questions or reservations, how can you satisfy them?
