Review these sites we discussed in class regarding sources (for the first source--please read each tab on the website!):
For one of the sources from your paper, I'd like you to go through these questions (which can be found in the first link above).
- What can the URL tell you?
- Who wrote the page? Is he, she, or the authoring institution a qualified authority?
- Is it dated? Current, timely?
- Is information cited authentic? How can you tell?
- Does the page have overall integrity and reliability as a source? How can you tell?
- What's the bias?
- Could the page or site be ironic, like a satire or a spoof?
- If you have questions or reservations, how can you satisfy them?
