This week's reading covers how encryption protects data, and the three common types used.  Answer the following questions and then discuss with your classmates:

1. Read this article about Microsoft’s BitLocker at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732774.aspx.  Explain what you feel are the most important points, whether positive or negative.  Why do you feel this way?
2. Explain why hashing passwords can be advantageous.  On the opposite side of the argument, what do you think could be the most problematic aspect of hashing passwords?
