Users have access to vital information of a company. Lack of security knowledge of the company to protect this information will make users put the organization at a risk. Users are the one who are taken advantage by hackers or any other intruders who try to breach security of an organization and get access to vital information. Providing information security education and training is very crucial for maintaining security of an organization. security awareness program explains employee’s role in area of information security. They help to show users their part in protecting organization’s information. When all employees of an organization are educated about security then not only security staff whole of organization will work in security interests of the company. This creates a human firewall which will be more powerful than properly configured firewalls and intruder detection systems. People when educated about security will support security and form a layer of protection to prevent threats to company’s critical information assets (Stephanie D. Hight, 2005, p.1).  organizations having employees uneducated about security is at high risk. This risk can be mitigated by implementing security education, training and awareness program ( SETA). A policy to be implemented, it should be properly disseminated throughout organization to all employees.

SETA program should explain security expectations an organization expects from an employee. It should explain reason for existence of security policies and steps involved in each policy in detail. Any policy will be accepted and followed by employees when they understand the reason behind the existence of the policy. Employees should be made aware of the damage that might result to an organization due to security threats.
