 Discussion 10: Morality

In Chapter 14 of your textbook, you read about the work of Purtilo and Doherty (2011), who divide morality into three categories: personal, social, and group. Review this section of the chapter, then respond to the following questions:

• Define the term moral integrity.
• Explain each category of morality outlined by Purtilo and Doherty.
• Are there circumstances where the three categories can be in conflict with one another and a person still maintain moral integrity? Give an example.
• What role do you play as a “co-creator” in each of the categories?
