diagnostic essay

Students will make an argument to prove their point based on any topic.

For example: I can write that the Gears of War series is the best video game series and use this point as my thesis for this diagnostic essay. The consequent body paragraphs will then have to prove why this is so. You can use any topic ( best makeup brand, game, novel, TV show etc). I will look at grammar, organization, and content for grading purposes. 

Essay should be five paragraphs long. Each paragraph should be 5-10 sentences
