Explain in your own words (please do not simply copy what is found in your textbook verbatim) the functionalist, conflict, and the interactionist perspectives of deviance. In your explanation, use at least one specific theory for each of the three perspectives so it is clear that you understand the information.

Which of the perspectives do you find most useful or valid in explaining crime or deviance. Why?

Now, choose a crime or act of deviance and apply any of the theories listed in your textbook to better understand or explain why an individual may have committed the crime or deviated from the expectations of society.   Do you think the explanation is valid? Why or why not, or simply critique the theory in question.
