Bill Dowdy has taken may trips to the Philippines. Because of his knowledge about the country, last year he formed the Balut Trading Company. The company is located in the Philippines and exports products to the United States. Bill is a relatively inexperienced business person and has had trouble finding qualified staff. The company started off well, but because of the recent bad economy sales have fallen and Balut is running a little short of cash. In addition, there has been some political turmoil in the Philippines, and some new laws may be on the horizon that will make exporting products more expensive. To make matters worse, the Philippine Peso has strengthened in value which makes Balut’s products more expensive in the United States.
