Laura,

I hope this email finds you well.

The instructions posted are:

Take the Emotional Intelligence Test which is estimated to take 45 minutes.

This will be your Week 2 discussion posting.

After you complete the 'test' you will receive a FREE snapshot report with a summary evaluation and graph.

Then the instructions state:

Share your findings and revelations as a reflective post. No peer response is needed.

This means you are to write about YOUR results- after you have REFLECTED on them. When you reflect on a topic or finding- you are thinking about the 'findings'- were you surprised with the findings?- do they align with what you believed yourself to be? In your research what do these findings correlate to, etc...

Hope this helps- if not feel free to reach out.

Have a great night.

You have very high EI

Your emotional intelligence is high

EI is invaluable in all interpersonal situations. For this reason, you may shine as a friend, parent, or leader. To nurture your EI further, stay connected to your emotions, thoughts, and feelings, especially when you experience stress. Your empathy, compassion, and effective communication are part of your success.

1. What to Know

· High emotional intelligence leads to doing well in the work environment. People with healthy EI make good decisions and communicate effectively; they are promoted more readily.

· This trait is also associated with academic success; students with high EI have good time management skills and are less likely to freak out over assignments and exams.

· Healthy EI also means having healthier relationships, you are likely able to communicate your needs as well as hear out the needs of others.

· Higher emotional intelligence is also linked with better health and well-being; good EI protects you from mental health disorders, namely anxiety and depression. You likely enjoy better health than others.

· During a conflict, you are able to  manage your emotions by turning down the heat of tension, listening, as well as resolving disputes constructively.

2. Kick It Up a Notch

Reframe your thoughts.

Use different, positive perspectives. Humans have a universal “negativity bias.” You may handle that better than others, but it is worth remembering.

Be more mindful.

Mindfulness can boost your self-awareness. Being in the moment can help a person become detached from the negativity surrounding a charged emotion.

Cultivate empathy and compassion.

Be kind toward yourself and others. Look at situations from different angles, and accept your emotions and those of others.

3. Next Steps

Speak to your primary care physician or contact one of our therapists to determine if you would benefit from therapy.

We can help you find a match. It’s free and we verify all therapist credentials.
