How is the planning process in traditional project management different from sprint planning in terms of inputs, tools, and output required for both types of planning?

How does the concept of a burndown chart help us track our planning activities? How do we track variance in agile? For example, you planned to create four red t-shirts, and during execution, you noticed that you produced four yellow t-shirts (variance). How would you manage this variance in an agile environment versus a traditional project?
