This week we are exploring the mathematical events and achievements of civilizations from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century.
Choose any ONE of the following topics for the Week 2 discussion. Remember to paraphrase and cite your sources.
(1) According to Ramesh Gangolli, immigration to the U. S. that began in the late nineteenth century had a significant influence on mathematical research in America. (R. - What field of mathematics was her main focus?
- Was her work the basis of other discoveries?
- Was her work recognized during her lifetime? Why?
