DB 1 PHL 1010
In Chapter 1, Paul and Elder describe the virtue of Intellectual Courage. Describe a moment in your life when you showed Intellectual Courage. What belief did you question? Why were you willing to give up that belief? How were you able to stand up against the majority?
Your explanations should include reasons that support them and make use of the concepts (plural) in the textbook, by drawing directly from the textbook. (drawing from our textbook= textbook concept and can include things like paraphrased information, quotes, etc.). It should be easy to determine you are drawing from the textbook (by using phrases, for example, like: according to Paul and Elder, our textbook, and the like). When you do draw from the textbook, there must be context (an obvious connection) in support of answering the discussion board question. This means quotes, paraphrased materials, etc., should not simply be slapped down without an explanation of how the information supports your answer. Going forward, don't forget drawing from the textbook, to demonstrate the use of textbook concepts, is required for every discussion board answer.
