Your original response should encompass a thorough reflection, application or feedback – as required, minimum 2-3 full paragraphs in length(which consists of 4-5 sentences per paragraph).  Be concise and to the point in your answer. An original response is formal in nature and should include a scholarly application to the specified topic, including references and corresponding in-text citations.

You will need to support your answers with resources (i.e. textbook, peer-reviewed journals, news articles, or any other reputable sources).  Remember to provide in-text citation and a reference list(AMA Format).

 Discussion Prompt:

In chapter 5, it opens up a discussion on how the US healthcare market deviates from a truly competitive market.  You may have heard that the US has an "imperfect" market, which essentially means that the traditional law of supply and demand that a competitive market exhibits, is not always present in our healthcare system.  This is further explained in the "Economics of Healthcare" chapter which was assigned to you for this weeks readings. For this discussion, state 2 or 3 of the market conditions exhibited by the US healthcare system and explain how it deviates from the traditional supply and demand models we are familiar with in a competitive market.  Preferably, I would like you to use real-world examples from your clinical or personal experience(ICU nurse). This is how we learn best when we apply the concepts learned in our studies. I try to use active learning pedagogical tools whenever possible.
