The police are transporting a suspect in a police car for interrogation in the police station. During the long drive, the officers asked the suspect to which church he belongs. He said he worshipped every Sunday in a local church that adhered to strict rules about the bible and belief in God. The police then say that their own church also had the same strict rules about living the righteous life. There was no further conversation other than that. A few minutes later, however, the suspect started to sob and then confessed that he did kill his wife in a fit of jealousy. He later signed a statement confession to the crime.
- Is that confession admissible during trial? Why or Why not? Please do not tell me anything about the crime. I only want to know based upon what you have read in these 3 chapters, if his statement is admissible in court or would it be thrown out and why)
