Culture in Criminal Justice

Many criminal justice organizations are burdened with a culture of silence, an adversarial outlook, and alienation and distance from the people they are sworn to serve.

For this Discussion, select a component organization–corrections, policing, parole and probation, or the courts. Consider the effects of the organization's culture on its performance.

ASSIGNMENT:  an explanation of the concept of culture in criminal justice. Describe FOUR positive and FOUR negative aspects of culture in the criminal justice organization you have chosen. Describe TWO challenges in changing ingrained culture in these organizations.
