respond to one of the following prompts. 

Prompt #1 

Define "cultural diversity" in your words by discussing the elements that contribute to a person's cultural identity. What are the merits of discussing cultural identity, and what harm might happen if those discussions do not happen? 

Would you like to live in a community where everyone has the same cultural identity? Explain the advantages and disadvantages of living in a community where everyone has the same cultural identity.

Prompt #2 

Share with us some of your personal and cultural identities. Please share 6 aspects of yourself with the group. Here are some identity categories, for example: 

• Cultural Heritage(s) 
• Nationality(-ies) 
• Family 
• Race/Ethnicity 
• Religion/Religious influences 
• Sexual Identity 
• Disability Status 
• Language Community(-ies) 
• Character trait(s) 

Do any of these identities relate to one another, if so, how? What would a person who reads about your identity be able to reveal about you? What would a person who reads about your identity not be able to tell about you? Do any of your cultural identity groups practice allyship? If they do not practice allyship, how might they engage in activities to be more inclusive and equitable?

Prompt #3 

People have different views of cultural competency, cultural inclusion, and what a fully inclusive community, space, or society might be like. Share what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they are important. 

Select one space or community to which you belong and assess it for equity, inclusion, and diversity. For example, this space or community can be something like your Facebook group of friends, a religious organization, your family, a classroom, or your workplace. 

How important is acknowledging and supporting diversity and diverse perspectives within this group? What is done to make sure everyone feels included? How might you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with people in this group who do not understand its importance?
