Long-term care services are services that provide help and assistance to patients that need medical care for an extended period of time. Long term care can be obtained for elderly patients who may no longer be able to perform ADLs without assistance or for a individual recovering from an injury and is not able to care for themselves during their recovery time. There is a multitude of uses for long term care services as well as places that provide them. Many rehabilitation facilities, assisted living facilities, and even home health care provide long term care for their patients.
