Describe what the authors of our text recommend (see esp. pages 284-285) as our best protection against media bias. What do you think each of us ought to do in order to avoid being influenced by biased reporting or commentary in the media? Do you think this solution involves an unrealistic amount of extra work?  Do you think it would be a more realistic approach to discourage biased reporting by changing our culture or the culture of media organizations?
