Crisis Review Based on A Current Event

Background

For this assignment, you will isolate a complex crisis event published in a credible source such as a textbook or case study. Then, you will assess the nature of the crisis and conduct an analysis. The recap should offer some preliminary guidance on how the communicator would advise company leadership to act or provide insight into responsible criticisms or concerns. Concentrate on actions that would improve the situation and help to expedite a responsible conclusion to the crisis. 

Instructions

1. Select a recent (within the past 5 years) crisis event to outline and assess. Using the SWOT Analysis Model template, provide an objective and balanced evaluation of the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with the case. You can present this content using bullets and be sure to properly cite resources using in-text citations. 
2. Present a narrative paragraph that explains how this case fits the definition of a crisis addressed in the Module 1 readings, optional Chat conversation and other activities and credible content for substantiation. 
3. Create another narrative paragraph to address the most significant concerns isolated in the case. 
4. Draw conclusions and document at least three key lessons learned or improvement recommendations to enhance the way a professional communicator could better support the event outcomes. 

Length: This assignment must be 3 to 4 pages (excluding the title and reference pages).
