Criminological theories

  

Criminological theories are often criticised as being out-dated or too narrow to apply to contemporary Australian society. Utilising Classical Theory and ONE (1) other Criminological Theory of your choice, critically analyse the use of Mandatory Minimum Sentences as a response to crime in contemporary Australia.

The assignment is 1500 words (+/- 10%). Students are encouraged to use sub-headings and a minimum of eight (8) valid references required. For references to be valid, they must be academic or otherwise from a legitimate source.  Websites should be used with caution. References must be integrated and cited appropriately throughout the body/discussion as per either the Harvard or APA 7 styles.
