 Sexting and sending nude photos amongst teenagers is very popular these days.  Many states can punish minors who engage in this conduct by charging them with the dissemination of child pornography.  What do you think?  Should they be charged with child pornography for sexting or sharing nude photos?  One consequence that results from this conduct is that the person arrested will probably have to register as a sex offender.

Is this the proper way to deal with teens who engage in sexting?  

Is the Sex Offender Registries improperly used to stigmatize individuals who engage in non-threatening sexual conduct or in circumstances were the intent to commit a criminal act did not exists?
