The links gives an overview of the FBI’s citizen’s academy—classes offered to citizens where they can learn how the FBI investigates crimes and threats to national security as well as the various tools and techniques employed by the department.

Write and submit a paper no less than 2 pages and no more than 4 pages answering the following questions.  Please be sure to cite any additional resources you use.

Are there other programs available for citizens who wish to work/learn about working with to state law enforcement agencies? Do these programs require accreditation? 

What are the potential benefits of a police citizens’ academy?

What are the potential hazards?

Should more agencies offer such programs? Why or why not?

How do you think these programs can be improved?
