One of the most commonly used yet misunderstood amendments is the 14th amendment. It is cited a lot in its equal protection and due process functions, but what do those really mean from a practical standpoint?

This week you will find a 14th amendment US Supreme Court case from the last FIVE years and you will present an argument supporting the DISSENT of the case. In other words, you will argue that the US Supreme Court made the wrong decision.

Some things you should consider: other Supreme Court cases; lower court cases with analysis that supports your arguments; statistics from accurate sources that show what Americans support; news stories describing a negative outcome of the decision; long-term outcome of the decision of the case.
