Use headings that align to the scoring guide criteria. Be succinct and make every word count. Facts and evidence should be chosen because they are the most relevant to your topic and point. There’s no room to waste. Cite all your facts.

Use pictures which support your points. Want to insert a picture from your files or add a shape, text box, or table? You got it! On the Insert tab of the ribbon, just tap the option you need. You can get change the placement of images in relationship to your text by going to Picture Format and then Arrange. Check the copyright on any image you use and make sure you give credit to your source.

To apply any text formatting, you see on this page with just a tap, on the Home tab of the ribbon, check out Styles. Keep text to 10 pts or larger. Chose fonts that are easy to read (if in doubt use Times New Roman or Calibri). Keep most text black, but you can use colors for titles and headers (be minimalistic with colors). Be patient. Word has powerful options for formatting your document, but they take a bit of practice to get them to do exactly what you want.
