A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Please write a short paper (800-1000 words).  Please indicate whether you agree or disagree with each statement provided below and explain your rationale.


Robots will never pose a threat to society if their creators adhere to Asmov's laws.

Robots developed for law enforcement or military purposes can never adhere to Asimov's laws because they must be prepared to harm humans to do their job.
